This link led to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atomon.org\/go.php?http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/entertainment\/music\/4336113.stm\" target=\"blank\" title=\"(4 hits)\">Top 5 Songs Limeys Want Played at their Funerals<\/a>.  (Who the hell is Robbie Williams, anyway?)  All of this obviously begs the question, what are your 2 choices?  <\/p>\n<p>I was married just a few months ago and, when we were still organizing the event, before we decided against a first dance ritual, we had chosen A Kiss To Build a Dream On.  Yes, it was in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atomon.org\/go.php?http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0108160\/soundtrack\" target=\"blank\" title=\"(4 hits)\">Sleepless in Seattle<\/a>, but (*flashing my dork cred*), my first exposure to it was in the opening of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atomon.org\/go.php?http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0183066\/soundtrack\" target=\"blank\" title=\"(4 hits)\">Fallout 2<\/a>.  A sweet song, right sentiment for the occasion, and the uptempo version has a jazzy trumpet solo.  Oh yeah, and Louis Armstrong.  Good stuff all around.<\/p>\n<p>Which just leaves the the funeral song.  As a teenager, I probably would&#8217;ve wanted something depressing or angry, something like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atomon.org\/go.php?http:\/\/www.atomon.org\/pubmusic\/1.mp3\" target=\"blank\" title=\"(7 hits)\">this<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atomon.org\/go.php?http:\/\/www.atomon.org\/pubmusic\/3.mp3\" target=\"blank\" title=\"(7 hits)\">this<\/a>.  I would&#8217;ve wanted people to be sad and\/or pissed, to sit around thinking about their own mortality and the futility of existence, and then maybe go kill themselves.  I was a really, really annoying teenager.  Now, I&#8217;d really rather people get drunk and have some fun while sitting around thinking about the absurdity of existence, so something like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atomon.org\/go.php?http:\/\/www.atomon.org\/pubmusic\/2.mp3\" target=\"blank\" title=\"(7 hits)\">the #3 song<\/a> from the Limey&#8217;s list might be ok&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Your turn.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ilse sent a link to me for the Top 5 First Dance Wedding Songs, at least as chosen by the Brits.
